Weekly deals: Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro launch with optional tablet bundle
Xiaomi’s 17T Series Arrives: Big Upgrades (and a Price Bump)
Xiaomi just pulled the curtain back on the 17T series, and there is plenty to talk about. While these new models come with a €100 price hike compared to the 15T predecessors, the spec sheets suggest you’re getting a lot more hardware for your money. If you’ve been waiting for a serious camera and battery upgrade, this might be the year to pull the trigger.
Xiaomi 17T: The New Photography Standard
The standout story for the standard Xiaomi 17T is the camera system. Gone is the basic 2x lens of old; in its place is a 50MP 5x periscope (115mm) that matches the Pro model. Whether you’re looking for 10x lossless zoom or detailed 30cm macro shots, this setup is a massive leap forward. The main 50MP sensor is supported by a 12MP ultra-wide and a 32MP selfie camera for a well-rounded kit.
On the display front, the 17T is slightly more pocket-friendly with a 6.59-inch 12-bit 120Hz OLED. Despite the smaller footprint, Xiaomi managed to cram in a massive 6,500mAh battery thanks to silicon-carbon technology—that is a full 1,000mAh more than last year. It supports 67W HyperCharge and 50W via USB PPS adapters, plus a handy 22.5W reverse charging feature to top up your accessories on the go.
Xiaomi 17T Pro: The Powerhouse
If you need the absolute top-tier experience, the 17T Pro steps things up. It keeps the larger 6.83-inch 12-bit OLED but bumps the refresh rate to a buttery-smooth 144Hz. Under the hood, it swaps the 17T’s Dimensity 8500 for the flagship Dimensity 9500 chipset.
The battery here is even more impressive—a staggering 7,000mAh cell that supports 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. While it shares the same 5x periscope as its sibling, the Pro model uses a larger 1/1.31” main sensor with bigger pixels for better low-light performance.
Sweetening the Deal: Tablet Bundles
Since these phones are brand new, you won’t find direct discounts just yet. However, Xiaomi is softening the blow of the price increase with some pretty compelling tablet bundles. You have two main choices:
- The Budget Route: Pair your new phone with the Redmi Pad 2. It features a 9.7-inch 120Hz screen and a 7,600mAh battery. Normally €200, you can grab it for just €100 as part of the bundle.
- The Pro Route: If you want more power, the Xiaomi Pad 8 is the way to go. This 11.2-inch slate runs on the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, boasts a 144Hz refresh rate, and a 9,200mAh battery. You can snag this €450 tablet for €300 when buying a 17T series phone.
A High-Value Alternative: Poco F8 Ultra
If the 17T series prices feel a bit steep, don’t ignore the Poco F8 Ultra. It is actually cheaper than the vanilla 17T but packs the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, which can go toe-to-toe with the 17T Pro. It also borrows the Pro’s premium 1/1.31” main sensor and features a 50MP ultra-wide lens, which is actually higher resolution than the one found on the 17T models. The screen is even larger at 6.9 inches, though the battery is slightly smaller at 6,500mAh.
