Xiaomi enthusiasts have something new to chew on. A mysterious device, identified by the model number 2607DRA18C, recently surfaced in the Geekbench database. While Xiaomi is keeping things quiet for now, the rumor mill is already pointing toward this being the upcoming Redmi Note 17.
We have a few clues to work with. A device with a very similar model number—2607DRA18I—recently picked up BIS certification for the Indian market. The logic here is simple: the “I” suffix denotes the Indian variant, while the “C” model we spotted on Geekbench is clearly destined for China. This aligns with Xiaomi’s typical regional rollouts.
Under the Hood
So, what kind of performance are we looking at? The Geekbench listing shows a single-core score of 1,027 and a multi-core score of 3,002. This prototype is packing the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset and is paired with a generous 12GB of RAM. Perhaps most notably, it’s running Android 16 right out of the box, layered with Xiaomi’s HyperOS.
What to Expect Next
Because the global and Chinese model numbers share such a similar DNA, it’s still a bit of a toss-up whether we’ll see significant hardware differences across regions. Regardless, we won’t have to wait long for the full reveal—the Chinese Redmi Note 17 series is officially launching on July 14.
