OnePlus Turbo 6X & 6X Pro Debut: Massive Battery Life and Dimensity 7-Series Power
OnePlus Turbo 6X Series: Massive Batteries Meet Mid-Range Pricing
OnePlus just pulled the curtain back on the Turbo 6X series in China, and if you’re tired of your phone dying before dinner, you’ll want to pay attention. These devices are packing some of the largest batteries we’ve seen in a mainstream handset, paired with MediaTek’s latest 7-series silicon. While they are currently China exclusives, history suggests we’ll see these rebranded as the next generation of OnePlus Nord devices for the global market very soon.
Battery Life That Just Won’t Quit
The star of the show is undoubtedly the power management. The OnePlus Turbo 6X Pro features a massive 8,000mAh Silicon-Carbon (Si-C) battery. To put that in perspective, most flagships today struggle to hit 5,000mAh. It supports 80W SuperVOOC fast charging and plays nice with third-party chargers up to 55W.
Its sibling, the standard Turbo 6X, isn’t exactly a slouch either. It comes equipped with a 7,000mAh cell and 45W charging speeds. Whether you’re a heavy gamer or a marathon scroller, these phones are built to last multiple days on a single charge.
Display and Performance: Pro vs. Standard
The Pro model clearly earns its title when you look at the screen. It sports a gorgeous 6.78-inch M14 AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a buttery-smooth 144Hz refresh rate. It also hides an optical fingerprint scanner under the glass and houses a 16MP selfie camera.
The standard Turbo 6X takes a more budget-friendly approach with a 6.72-inch LCD. You still get that high 144Hz refresh rate, but at FHD+ resolution. The fingerprint sensor moves to the side power button, and the selfie camera drops to 8MP.
- Turbo 6X Pro: MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Super, up to 12GB RAM / 256GB storage
- Turbo 6X: MediaTek Dimensity 7360 Super, up to 12GB RAM / 256GB storage
Cameras and Durability
Both phones share a 50MP main camera (27mm equivalent), but their secondary setups differ. The Pro gives you an 8MP ultrawide lens for those landscape shots, while the standard model opts for a simple 2MP monochrome sensor.
If you’re prone to dropping your phone in the sink, the Pro is the way to go. It carries an impressive IP68/69K rating for water and dust resistance. The standard model offers a more modest IP64 rating, which is fine for light rain but not a dip in the pool.
Pricing and Style
The Turbo 6X series doesn’t just perform well; it looks the part too. The standard model comes in Black, Green, and White, starting at roughly $280 (CNY 1,899). The Pro model offers a more premium look in Black or a striking Orange, starting at approximately $295 (CNY 1,999).
Both devices run ColorOS 16 out of the box (based on Android 16) and are set to begin shipping in China on June 15. For those of us outside of China, keep an eye on the Nord lineup—these specs are likely headed your way soon.
