iOS 27 code confirms six upcoming iPhones

Yesterday, Apple released the fifth beta of iOS 27 for developers, and according to a new report, this version contains some hidden code that reveals six upcoming iPhone models.

The references in question were found in the system files related to the battery drivers and the Battery Intelligence features. Alongside the existing models, the iOS 27 beta 5 code also mentions the iPhone Air 2 (codenamed V62), the iPhone 18 Pro (V63), the iPhone 18 Pro Max (V64), the iPhone 18 (V67), the iPhone Ultra (V68), and the iPhone 18e (V69).

The codenames align with previous leaks and reports from other sources. These code references don’t reveal any specs or any details about any of these devices, but they are as close to an official confirmation as we’ll get before Apple unveils them. Earlier iOS 27 betas have also revealed support for foldable displays and multiple batteries, which will both be features of the iPhone Ultra.

Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and iPhone Ultra in September, with the iPhone 18, iPhone 18e, and iPhone Air 2 following in early 2027.
