Samsung Galaxy M55, A16 5G, and A17 5G receive One UI 8.5 stable update
Samsung Expands One UI 8.5 Rollout to Galaxy M55, A16 5G, and A17 5G
Samsung is keeping the momentum going with its latest software distribution. After a successful initial launch, the One UI 8.5 stable update is now landing on several mid-range favorites: the Galaxy M55, the Galaxy A16 5G, and the Galaxy A17 5G.
Fresh Features for the Galaxy M55
If you’re rocking a Galaxy M55 in India, it’s time to clear some space. The update arrives with firmware version M556BXXU5DZE3 and requires a download of approximately 3GB. Aside from the UI refinements, this package includes the May 2026 Android security patch, ensuring your device stays protected against the latest vulnerabilities.
Expanding the A-Series Reach
The A-series is also seeing significant love in this latest wave. For the Galaxy A16 5G, users in India and Indonesia are the first in line. This specific update carries firmware A166PXXU7DZE2 and weighs in at about 2.3GB.
Not to be outdone, the Galaxy A17 5G is receiving a much broader rollout. Users across India, Nepal, France, Bulgaria, and Vietnam can now download firmware version A176BXXU5CZE9. This update is roughly 2.4GB and, like the others, bundles the May 2026 security patch to keep things running smoothly.
Ready to Update?
While Samsung typically sends out notifications for these updates automatically, they don’t always arrive at the same time for everyone. If you haven’t seen a pop-up yet, you can manually trigger the check by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
Since these updates are fairly large, we recommend connecting to a stable Wi-Fi network and ensuring you have at least 50% battery life before you start the installation process. It’s a quick way to freshen up your user experience and keep your phone’s security up to date.
