Infinix Hot 70 announced with thermo paint, 6,000 mAh battery and 6.78-inch display

The Infinix Hot 70 is Here: Color-Changing Paint and a Massive Battery

After weeks of rumors, teasers, and the usual pre-launch hype, Infinix has finally pulled the curtain back on the Hot 70 series. For now, the spotlight is solely on the standard Infinix Hot 70. While we’re still waiting on the Pro and Pro+ models to make their debut, the base version gives us plenty to talk about—especially if you’re a fan of unique aesthetics.

A Design That Reacts to You

The standout feature here isn’t just the specs; it’s the paint. Infinix is leaning hard into a “Thermo Orange” finish that actually reacts to heat. When the phone is cool, it sports a deep, moody shade called Quiet Orange. Once it warms up—whether from the sun or heavy usage—it shifts into a vibrant, bright hue dubbed Playful Orange.

If color-shifting isn’t your thing, Infinix is offering a pretty wide palette of other finishes:

  • Green Texture
  • Quiet Violet
  • Dive Blue
  • Silver Dancer
  • Night Pulse

What’s even more impressive is the form factor. Despite housing a massive power cell, the phone remains remarkably thin at just 7.49mm and weighs in at a comfortable 195 grams. It’s rare to see a device this svelte that doesn’t feel like a brick in your pocket.

Hardware and Performance

Under the hood, the Hot 70 is powered by the Helio G100 Ultimate chipset. If that sounds familiar, it’s because it’s the same silicon found in last year’s Note 50 Pro series. It’s a reliable mid-range performer paired with several memory configurations to suit different needs:

  • 6GB RAM / 128GB Storage
  • 8GB RAM / 128GB Storage
  • 6GB RAM / 256GB Storage
  • 8GB RAM / 256GB Storage

Display and Battery Life

The front of the device features a large 6.78-inch IPS LCD. While the 720 x 1576 resolution is a bit on the modest side, it makes up for it with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. This lower resolution, combined with the gargantuan 6,000 mAh battery, suggests that the Hot 70 will likely be an absolute marathon runner when it comes to battery life.

When you finally do run out of juice, the 45W wired charging should get you back up to speed relatively quickly. Plus, it supports 10W reverse charging—perfect for topping up a pair of earbuds in a pinch.

Camera and Software

For photography, you get a 50MP f/1.9 main camera on the back. It’s accompanied by a secondary lens that Infinix hasn’t fully detailed, though it’s likely a depth sensor for those portrait shots. Flip the phone over, and you’ll find an 8MP f/2.0 snapper for selfies and video calls.

Surprisingly, the Hot 70 ships with Android 16 right out of the box, layered with Infinix’s XOS 16. It’s great to see a budget-friendly device staying current with the latest software versions.

The “Smart Key” Advantage

One final touch that’s unusual for this price bracket is the inclusion of a dedicated physical hardware button. You can customize this button to act as a shortcut for your favorite apps or specific features, like toggling the flashlight or opening the camera instantly. It’s a small addition that makes a big difference in daily usability.
