vivo S60 and S60 Vitality Edition arrive with 6.59” AMOLEDs and 7,200mAh batteries

The vivo S60 Series Debuts: Massive 7,200mAh Batteries and 5,000-Nit Displays

Vivo has officially pulled back the curtain on its latest mid-to-high-range contenders in China: the vivo S60 and the vivo S60 Vitality Edition. While the two devices share a striking design and a few key hardware pillars, vivo is clearly positioning the standard S60 as the choice for photography enthusiasts, thanks to a more robust chipset and a dedicated telephoto lens.

Displays That Pop

One area where vivo isn’t compromising is the screen. Both models are equipped with a gorgeous 6.59-inch AMOLED display. These aren’t your run-of-the-mill panels; we’re talking about a 1.5K resolution (2,750×1,260px) and a buttery smooth 120Hz refresh rate. Perhaps the most impressive stat is the peak local brightness, which can hit a staggering 5,000 nits in HDR mode. To keep things secure and sleek, both phones feature an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner under the glass and a sharp 50MP selfie camera tucked into the front.

Performance: Snapdragon vs. Dimensity

Under the hood, the two siblings go their separate ways. The vivo S60 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, a chip designed to offer flagship-tier performance at a slightly more accessible price point. You can spec this one with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

The S60 Vitality Edition, on the other hand, marks the debut of MediaTek’s fresh Dimensity 7500. It’s a capable alternative paired with 12GB of RAM, making it a solid daily driver for anyone who doesn’t need the absolute top-tier processing power of the Snapdragon variant.

Camera Capabilities and That “Pro” Look

If the rear camera island looks familiar, it’s likely because it takes a design cue or two from the latest high-end flagship trends. Both phones lead with a 50MP main sensor and an 8MP ultrawide lens. However, if you want that extra reach, the standard vivo S60 is the clear winner with its 50MP telephoto camera capable of 3x optical zoom.

Battery Life for Days

The real showstopper here is the battery. Vivo has managed to cram a massive 7,200mAh battery into these devices. For context, that is significantly larger than what you’ll find in almost any other mainstream smartphone today. To ensure you aren’t tethered to a wall all day, both support 90W fast charging.

Durability hasn’t been overlooked either. The series boasts IP68 and IP69 ratings, meaning they are built to survive both complete submersion and high-pressure water jets. On the software front, they launch with OriginOS 6, based on the latest Android 16.

Pricing and Availability

The vivo S60 series will be available in three stylish colorways: Starry Sea, Early Summer Green, and Midsummer Night. Sales in China are set to kick off on June 3.
