vivo confirms X Fold6 battery capacity and durability ratings
vivo X Fold6: Big Battery, Tough Build, and a Sleek New Look
With the launch date just around the corner, vivo is pulling out all the stops for its upcoming X Fold6. The company’s latest teaser campaign is giving us a clear picture of what to expect, and if you’re a fan of foldables, there is a lot to get excited about.
vivo’s product manager, Han Boxiao, recently took to Weibo to drop some major news regarding the device’s power system. The X Fold6 will pack a massive 7,000mAh battery—a significant jump that uses cutting-edge fifth-generation silicon anode and third-generation semi-solid state technology. vivo claims this setup translates to about 9.8 hours of heavy-duty usage, which is a massive 30% boost over the already capable X Fold5.
Durability is clearly a priority this time around. The new foldable is hitting the market with both IPX8 and IPX9 water-resistance ratings, ensuring it can handle more than just a light splash. Plus, with a refined hinge design and upgraded antennas for better signal strength and Wi-Fi performance, the X Fold6 looks built to last.
Style Meets Substance
We already got a glimpse of the phone in a teaser video earlier this week, but now we have the official color names to match the aesthetics. You’ll be able to choose from Blue Hole, Salt Lake, and the sleek Polar Night. For those who want a touch of extra flair, there’s even a special Black Gold Edition that features striking gold accents.
Under the hood, this flagship is expected to be a powerhouse. The device will be powered by a special edition Dimensity 9500 chipset and will run on OriginOS 6 Fold. With an expansive 8.02-inch foldable display and a massive 200MP primary camera, vivo seems to be aiming for the top spot in the foldable market.
The official unveiling is set for June 26 in China. Stay tuned, because it’s looking like this could be one of the most well-rounded foldables we’ve seen in a while.
