Samsung will be using the Dimensity 9500 chipset

Samsung’s Next Powerhouse: Dimensity 9500 Spotted in AI Core Leaks

It looks like Samsung is doubling down on its partnership with MediaTek. New evidence found buried within the code of Samsung’s own AI Core app has revealed references to the MediaTek Dimensity 9500. While the listing uses the chipset’s specific model number, it doesn’t take much detective work to figure out where this silicon is likely headed.

The Galaxy Tab S12 Connection

If you’ve been following the tablet market, this move makes perfect sense. The current Galaxy Tab S11 lineup turned heads by opting for the Dimensity 9400+, breaking the long-standing tradition of relying solely on Qualcomm or Exynos for high-end slabs. Jumping to the Dimensity 9500 is the logical next step for the Galaxy Tab S12 series, providing a natural performance bump that users have come to expect.

By sticking with MediaTek, Samsung can continue to deliver top-tier performance—especially in AI processing and multi-core efficiency—without the spiraling costs often associated with other flagship chips. For users, this usually translates to a tablet that stays snappy during heavy multitasking and creative work without the premium price hike.

What We Know So Far

Samsung typically follows a predictable rhythm with its tablet releases. Since the Tab S11 series debuted in early September, it’s a safe bet that we’ll see the Tab S12+ and the beastly S12 Ultra around the same time next year. Reports from earlier this year have already confirmed that development is well underway for these specific variants, as Samsung continues its strategy of alternating the vanilla and Plus models.

While we’re still waiting on official specs, the shift to the Dimensity 9500 suggests we’re looking at a serious contender for the best Android tablet of 2025. We can likely expect improved thermal management, better battery efficiency, and more robust AI features integrated directly into the One UI experience. We’ll be keeping a close eye on benchmarking scores as they inevitably start to surface in the coming months.
