Oppo Reno16 and 16 Pro arrive globally with specs changes
Oppo Reno16 and Reno16 Pro Go Global: What You Need to Know
It’s been exactly a month since Oppo first unveiled its Reno16 series in China. Now, the devices are officially heading to global markets, though if you’ve been keeping an eye on the Chinese launch, you’ll notice a few distinct changes in the international models.
The most notable shift happens under the hood. For the global release, the Reno16 Pro swaps the Chinese version’s Dimensity 9500s for a MediaTek Dimensity 8550 Super. Meanwhile, the standard Reno16 transitions to a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor. Storage configurations also see a slight shuffle, with the Pro arriving as a 12GB/512GB powerhouse, while the vanilla model comes in 8/256GB or 8/512GB options.
Battery and Display Tweaks
The changes extend to the power department as well. The global Pro model features a 6,700mAh Si-C battery—a slight step down from the 7,000mAh found in its domestic counterpart. The standard Reno16 also lands with a 6,700mAh battery in most markets, though European users should note that regional units will ship with a 6,000mAh capacity. Regardless of the size, the entire lineup maintains fast 80W SuperVOOC wired charging.
However, it’s not all about compromises. The global Reno16 Pro actually gets an upgrade in the display department, sporting a fluid 144Hz refresh rate. While both the Reno16 and the Pro model use a sharp 6.32-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with a peak local brightness of 3,600 nits, the standard Reno16 remains capped at 120Hz.
Camera Capabilities
If you’re buying these for the cameras, there is plenty to be excited about. The Pro retains the impressive setup we saw in China: a 200MP main shooter powered by Samsung’s S5KHP5 sensor, supported by a 50MP ultrawide lens and a 50MP telephoto lens capable of 3.5x optical zoom.
The non-Pro Reno16 shares the same versatile ultrawide and telephoto setup but opts for a 50MP main camera utilizing Sony’s LYT-600 sensor. Both handsets come with the modern essentials, including Android 16 with ColorOS 16 out of the box and robust IP68/IP69/IP69K ingress protection to keep them safe from the elements.
Pricing and Availability
The Reno16 arrives in three eye-catching finishes: Pop White, Twilight Violet, and Dream Purple. In Europe, it kicks off at €899 for the 8/512GB model. If you’re looking at the Pro, it’s available in Pop White and Starlight Black for €1,099 (12/512GB). Pro tip: if you snag either device before July 31, Oppo is offering significant launch discounts of €100 and €200, respectively. Both models officially hit shelves starting July 3.
