OnePlus N6: A Battery Beast Arrives in the Mid-Range Market

OnePlus is shaking things up with the upcoming launch of its new N-series smartphone, the OnePlus N6. Set to debut in India on June 30, this device is already turning heads—mostly because of its absolutely massive battery.

We already knew the phone was packing a whopping 8,000mAh battery, but as the launch date creeps closer, OnePlus has started pulling back the curtain on the rest of the spec sheet. Here is what we can look forward to:

Camera and Display Specs

For those who love snapping photos, the N6 comes with a dual-rear camera setup led by a solid 50MP sensor. While we are still waiting for confirmation on the secondary lens, the company has highlighted some cool software tricks, including 60fps video recording and a ‘Dual View Video’ mode. Up front, you will find an 8MP shooter for your selfies.

Visuals are handled by an AMOLED display that boasts a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. While the exact screen size is still under wraps, the combination of an AMOLED panel and high refresh rate usually makes for a top-tier scrolling experience.

Cooling and Design

It is not just about the battery size; it is about how the phone handles the power. OnePlus is touting a 5,300mm² vapor chamber cooling system. They claim it is the largest in the sub-INR 20,000 category, which is a big deal if you are planning on pushing the device with gaming or intensive apps.

Design-wise, the phone is launching in two distinct finishes: a crisp Fresh Mint and a sleek Midnight Green. It’s an interesting move into a new market segment for the brand, and it will be fascinating to see how the N6 stacks up once it hits store shelves next week.
