The OnePlus 15R Is Here to Break the RAM Bottleneck
OnePlus Bucks the Trend: Extra RAM for the 15R
Despite the persistent chatter about RAM prices skyrocketing due to the massive demand from AI data centers, OnePlus clearly isn’t feeling the pinch—or at least, they aren’t letting it stop them. The company just quietly launched a new, beefed-up version of the OnePlus 15R, giving users even more memory to play with. For now, this upgraded model is exclusive to the Indian market.
Meet the New 16GB Powerhouse
When the 15R first hit the scene last year, it impressed plenty of people with its 12GB RAM standard. That configuration, available with either 256GB or 512GB of storage, remains on the table. However, if you’re a power user who craves a little extra headroom for multitasking, OnePlus has introduced a new top-tier variant: 16GB of RAM paired with 512GB of storage. It’s priced at INR 61,999 (roughly $657), adding a solid option for those who don’t want to compromise on performance.
To give you a better idea of how it stacks up against the rest of the lineup:
- 12GB/256GB: INR 54,999 (approx. $583)
- 12GB/512GB: INR 59,999 (approx. $636)
- 16GB/512GB: INR 61,999 (approx. $657)
These models are currently live on the official OnePlus Indian online store.
Why the 15R Still Holds Up
It’s not just about the RAM boost, though. The OnePlus 15R remains a beast under the hood. You’re looking at a stunning 6.83-inch AMOLED display that hits a blistering 165Hz refresh rate and a massive 3,600-nit peak brightness. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, it also packs a 50MP main camera with OIS and a massive 7,400 mAh battery to keep you going throughout the day, supported by snappy 80W wired charging.
