Lava Shark 2 announced with a 120Hz display and a 6,000 mAh battery

Lava Shark 2 Hits the Indian Market: 5G, Clean Android, and a Massive Battery

Lava is keeping its foot on the gas. Following the release of the Shark 4G and the Shark 5G earlier this year, the Indian smartphone maker has officially pulled the curtain back on the Lava Shark 2. This latest entry aims to balance 5G performance with some impressive endurance specs, targeting users who want a smooth experience without the typical “budget phone” clutter.

Performance Meets Clean Software

Powering the Lava Shark 2 is the Unisoc T8200 chipset, supported by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. If you’re a digital hoarder, you’ll appreciate the microSD slot that allows for expansion up to a whopping 1TB. Perhaps the most refreshing part of the package is the software: the phone runs Android 16 right out of the box with zero ads and no pre-installed bloatware. Lava is also promising at least one major Android OS upgrade and two years of security updates to keep things current.

Big Screen, Bigger Battery

On the front, you’re looking at a large 6.75-inch HD+ LCD. While the resolution is standard for this price tier, the 120Hz refresh rate is a standout feature, ensuring that scrolling through your feeds feels snappy and fluid. A 5MP selfie camera sits in a small notch at the top, while the back houses a 13MP primary sensor for your everyday photography needs.

The real star of the show, however, is the 6,000 mAh battery. That’s plenty of capacity to get even the heaviest users through a full day—and likely two days for everyone else. While the phone supports 18W charging, it’s worth noting that the included wall brick is a 10W charger, so you might want to reach for a more powerful adapter to top off that massive cell a bit faster.

The Practical Extras

Lava hasn’t skimped on the essentials. The Shark 2 includes an IP64 rating for better-than-average dust and splash resistance, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for quick unlocking, and the beloved 3.5mm headphone jack.

Available in two distinct colors—Sonar Gold and Arya Blue—the Lava Shark 2 is priced competitively at INR 11,999. It will be available through offline retailers across India starting June 10. To add even more value, Lava is bundling its “Free Service @ Home” program, offering a level of convenience in after-sales support that’s hard to find at this price point.
