After a few weeks of teasing, HMD has finally pulled the curtain back on the HMD Vibe 2 5G in India. Serving as the successor to the original Hibe Vibe from late 2025, this new iteration brings some meaningful upgrades to the table—most notably for those who are tired of reaching for their charger by lunchtime.

The Vibe 2 5G makes an immediate impression with its large 6.75-inch LCD display. While it sticks to an HD+ resolution to keep things efficient, the inclusion of a 120Hz refresh rate is a welcome addition, ensuring that scrolling through social media or navigating the UI feels snappy and fluid.

What’s Under the Hood?

Driving the experience is the Unisoc T8200 chipset. Depending on your needs, you can pair it with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. If you’re a digital hoarder, don’t worry—HMD kept the microSD card slot, allowing you to expand your storage by up to a massive 1TB.

On the camera front, the phone features a 50MP primary rear sensor designed to handle your everyday snaps. While the secondary lens remains a bit of a mystery, the front-facing 8MP camera is ready for video calls and selfies.

The standout feature here is undoubtedly the 6,000mAh battery. This is a significant bump that should comfortably push the phone through two days of moderate use. It supports 18W wired charging, which isn’t the fastest on the market, but the trade-off is incredible longevity. Surprisingly, it ships with Android 16 right out of the box, and HMD has committed to two years of security patches to keep things safe.

HMD hasn’t stripped away the essentials. You still get a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for quick access and, thankfully, the 3.5mm headphone jack is still here. The device also carries an IP64 rating, giving it a bit of a shield against dust and light splashes. Connectivity is well-covered too, featuring 5G support, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 5.0.
