The smartphone world never stays still for long, and honestly, that’s why we love it. We’ve been right here in the thick of it for 26 years now, and as we celebrate another birthday at GSMArena.com, we’re just as excited about the future of tech as we were on day one.

The last twelve months have been a bit of a rollercoaster. We watched foldables evolve at breakneck speed, saw the arrival of the first phones packing massive 10,000mAh batteries, and tracked the (perhaps short-lived) obsession with super-slim designs. We also saw some big wins for transparency, like the EU’s push for informative energy labels that give users a clearer look at durability and repairability. It was all going smoothly until the price of RAM and flash storage started climbing, throwing a wrench into the works for manufacturers and consumers alike.

Because we’re living in a bit of a strange era—one where some manufacturers are actually hiking prices on older models instead of discounting them—staying informed is more critical than ever. It hasn’t all been cake and celebrations, though. Being a household name comes with its own set of headaches—like when spammers recently tried to use our brand to target users in Germany. Thankfully, we were able to shut that down quickly. It’s just part of the territory when you’ve been around for over a quarter of a century.
