The smartphone landscape is about to get a lot more intelligent. Nubia has officially teased the upcoming launch of what it’s billing as the world’s first “AI agent” smartphone. Rather than just adding a few smart features, the company claims this device will introduce system-level AI autonomy, potentially changing how we interact with our mobile devices entirely.

The big reveal is slated for the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) in Shanghai, running from July 17 to July 20. Nubia dropped the news via their official Weibo account, sparking plenty of speculation about what this “agent-first” approach actually looks like in practice.

While the company is keeping the full spec sheet under wraps for now, industry whispers suggest this handset will be the direct successor to the nubia M153, which launched earlier this year with ByteDance’s Doubao AI on board.
