Google Pixel Watch 5 pops up in certification listing

The Pixel Watch 5 is Making Waves: New Certifications Reveal What’s Coming

Just days after those intriguing scuba-diving leak photos made the rounds, we’ve got more solid evidence that the Pixel Watch 5 is right around the corner. A new listing from India’s BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) certification agency has surfaced, essentially confirming that Google is gearing up for a multi-model launch.

The certification lists four distinct model numbers: G0F3Y, G1XJ6, G25QD, and GFW3R. If history is any indication, these likely represent the two standard sizes—41mm and 45mm—split across both Wi-Fi only and cellular (LTE) configurations. This variety ensures that whether you prefer a sleek, compact fit or a larger display with independent connectivity, there’s a version tailored for you.

What’s Under the Hood?

Beyond just model numbers, we’re starting to see a clearer picture of the hardware. The 45mm version spotted in recent leaks confirms that Google isn’t skimping on the health and connectivity tech. We’re looking at a robust sensor suite including:

  • Advanced heart rate and pulse sensors
  • SpO2 (blood oxygen) monitoring
  • Skin temperature tracking
  • Ultra-Wideband (UWB) chip for precise spatial awareness and digital key support

The most significant shift, however, might be the brain of the device. Rumors are swirling that Google is ready to ditch the Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC used in previous generations in favor of a custom Tensor chipset. Moving to an in-house chip could be a game-changer for battery efficiency and deeper integration with Google’s AI features, much like we’ve seen with the Pixel phone lineup.

While we wait for the official reveal, these certifications suggest that the hardware is finalized and ready for the mass market. If the jump to Tensor pans out, the Pixel Watch 5 could finally be the powerhouse wearable Android fans have been waiting for.
