Is the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra Finally Getting a Pro-Grade Camera?

For years, Samsung’s foldable fans have had to compromise. You get the innovative screen real estate, but the camera system almost always felt a step behind the ‘Ultra’ slab phones. Well, that might be about to change. With the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra set for its official reveal on July 22, fresh leaks are hinting that Samsung is finally bringing their flagship-level camera software to their foldables.

According to a report from reliable leaker Lanzuk, the Z Fold8 Ultra is expected to borrow heavily from the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s photography toolkit. This is a big deal if you’re a mobile creator, as it suggests we could finally see support for professional color grading via video LUTs, significantly beefed-up image processing, and better performance in tricky, low-light environments.

New Features, Familiar Hardware

Beyond the raw imagery, Samsung is reportedly adding some nifty software tricks to make the most of the foldable form factor. Word is that we’ll be getting dual-video recording, which lets you capture footage from the front and rear cameras simultaneously—perfect for vlogging or getting creative with reaction shots.

It is important to keep expectations in check, though. While the software intelligence is getting a major boost, reports suggest the physical camera hardware is largely staying the same. Expect to see the familiar setup returning to the fold:

Main: 200MP primary sensor
Telephoto: 10MP periscope lens with 3x optical zoom
Ultrawide: 50MP sensor

While some might be disappointed that the glass itself isn’t changing much, the jump in processing power and pro-grade software features could be exactly what the Z Fold series needs to feel like a true ‘Ultra’ device.
