Galaxy Z Fold8 wide appears in another dummy leak, this time in black
New Galaxy Z Fold8 Leaks Show Off a Wider Design and Sleek Black Finish
It seems the rumor mill for Samsung’s next generation of foldables is hitting overdrive. We have two fresh leaks providing a clearer picture of the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold8, which is shaping up to be a significant departure from its predecessors in terms of physical proportions.
While we previously caught a glimpse of a white dummy unit, new photos have surfaced showing the device in a sharp, stealthy black—a colorway widely expected to be branded as “Graphite.”
Design Evolution: Familiar Looks, Wider Feel
At first glance, the Z Fold8 maintains the design DNA we saw in the Galaxy Z Fold7. You can expect the same clean aesthetic: a flat frame, sharp edges, and that signature slim profile. The most noticeable change, however, is the shift to a wider and shorter form factor. If you’ve felt the previous Fold models were a bit too narrow for comfortable typing on the cover display, this design adjustment might be the upgrade you’ve been waiting for.
Interestingly, this form factor is starting to look quite similar to the current trend in foldable design, drawing comparisons to the Huawei Pura X Max and even whispers of a potential foldable iPhone.
Camera and Hardware Details
The dummy unit confirms a vertical, pill-shaped camera island on the back, housing a dual-lens setup. Industry insiders suggest this will consist of a 50MP primary sensor paired with a 50MP ultrawide lens, focusing on high-quality utility rather than cramming in unnecessary sensors. Everything else remains where you’d expect: volume and power buttons on the right edge, with a standard USB-C port at the base.
Stacking It Up Against the S26 Ultra
To give us a better sense of scale, renowned tipster Ice Universe shared a comparison render placing the Z Fold8 next to the powerhouse Galaxy S26 Ultra. The visual evidence suggests that the Z Fold8’s cover display is only marginally wider than the S26 Ultra’s screen, hinting that while the device is wider, it isn’t necessarily “tablet-wide” in the way some might expect, keeping it pocket-friendly.
What’s Coming Next?
Samsung is gearing up for a massive Unpacked event currently slated for July 22. Along with the standard Z Fold8, we are expecting to see:
- Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra: The premium successor to the Z Fold7.
- Galaxy Z Flip8: The latest iteration of their popular clamshell foldable.
- New Wearables: Including the highly anticipated Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and the Galaxy Watch9.
With the release date inching closer, it won’t be long until we see if these leaked designs hold up when the real hardware hits the shelves.
