Honor X80 Pro Max: A Powerhouse Battery That Won’t Quit

If you have been keeping an eye on the latest smartphone leaks, you’ve likely seen the buzz surrounding the Honor X80 Pro Max. Well, the wait is officially over—it has just launched in China, and it is packing a feature that makes almost every other flagship look a bit thirsty: a massive 11,000 mAh battery.

This is easily the largest battery we’ve seen in a mainstream device, signaling a clear push toward multi-day endurance. To keep you from waiting around the outlet forever, Honor has included 90W fast charging and 27W reverse wired charging, so you can even use your phone to give a quick boost to your other gadgets.

Display and Performance

The device sports a 6.8-inch LTPS AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring that animations and scrolling feel silky smooth. Honor claims a staggering 10,000-nit peak brightness—though keep in mind this is an isolated peak performance usually reserved for specific video playback scenarios. Under the hood, you’ll find the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 processor, which comes paired with various memory configurations ranging from 8GB to 12GB of RAM, and storage options up to 512GB.

Built to Last

Beyond the internal specs, Honor has put some serious work into durability. The X80 Pro Max features an under-display optical fingerprint scanner and comes with both IP68 and IP69K ratings. That IP69K certification is particularly impressive, meaning the phone is designed to withstand high-pressure, high-temperature water sprays—a rare level of protection for a standard handset.

Photography is handled by a 50MP main shooter with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and an 8MP selfie camera. It runs on Android 16 with the latest iteration of MagicOS 10.

Pricing and Availability

The phone is available in four striking finishes: Black, Orange, Red, and a sophisticated “Moon Shadow.” If you’re looking at the entry-level 8/128GB model, the standard price is set at CNY 1,999 (about $295). However, there is currently an introductory promotion knocking it down to CNY 1,699, or roughly $250. Given the battery capacity alone, this is shaping up to be a very interesting value proposition for heavy users.
