Honor Watch 6 Review: Is This the Best Wearable of the Year?
Hands-On: The Honor Watch 6 Is a Battery Life Beast
The Honor Watch 6 has officially arrived, and frankly, it’s one of those rare wearables that makes an immediate case for itself. Whether you’re eyeing the sleek Shadow Black model or the sophisticated Twilight Brown, Honor has positioned this as a top-tier contender in the current smartwatch landscape.
While the standard retail price sits at €250/£230, Honor is sweetening the deal with a launch discount that brings it down to €170/£150 for the first month. At that price point, it’s hard not to be tempted.
What’s in the Box?
Inside the packaging, you’ll find the watch itself, a magnetic charger (though note that it uses a pin-based connection rather than a universal wireless puck), and your strap of choice. The Black variant comes with a durable fluororubber band, while the Brown model opts for a premium leather strap to justify its slight price premium.
Design and Feel: More Than Just Specs
The headline feature here is the battery. Packing nearly 1,000mAh into a smartwatch is no small feat. Thanks to Honor’s efficient proprietary MagicOS, this thing is rated for up to a month of typical use. The real magic? You wouldn’t know there’s a massive battery inside just by looking at it.
Weighing in at just under 68g with the strap, the watch feels substantial but comfortable. It avoids that hollow, “cheap plastic” sensation that plagues so many budget wearables, offering the perfect amount of heft for a 46mm timepiece. The build quality is excellent, featuring a flush glass display and a sturdy aluminum bezel accented by six slightly raised markers—a clever design touch meant to protect your screen from accidental knocks.
The Display Experience
The 1.46-inch circular AMOLED display is a standout, boasting a crisp 464×464 resolution and an incredibly bright 3,000 nits. Honor’s MagicOS interface feels familiar if you’ve used their phones, utilizing nice, transparent elements that give the UI a modern, polished look. Navigating is intuitive, thanks to the physical buttons on the right side, including a responsive rotating crown.
We are currently putting the Honor Watch 6 through its paces. Given that the battery can last up to 35 days on a single charge, our deep-dive review is going to take a bit longer than usual—but stay tuned, because this is definitely one to watch.
