Tecno Spark 50 Pro arrives with Helio G100 Ultimate, 60W charging and IP69 rating

Tecno Spark 50 Pro: The Rugged Budget King with a 120Hz Screen and 60W Charging

Tecno just expanded its Spark 50 lineup, and this latest addition is a lot more rugged than you might expect. The new Tecno Spark 50 Pro isn’t just another budget-friendly smartphone; it’s actually gunning for some serious durability stats while keeping its look surprisingly modern.

Built to Survive the Elements

One of the biggest talking points here is the ingress protection. Usually, budget devices cut corners on water resistance, but the Spark 50 Pro boasts IP68 and IP69 ratings. This means it’s not just splash-proof—it’s designed to handle high-pressure water jets and full immersion. If you’re prone to dropping your phone in puddles or getting caught in the rain, this phone is built to take it.

That “Pro” Look and Sony Camera Tech

The design team clearly took some inspiration from high-end rivals, featuring a camera plate reminiscent of the rumored iPhone 17 Pro. However, Tecno is keeping things efficient with a single, high-quality lens. We’re looking at a 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 sensor (1/1.95-inch) with an f/1.8 aperture. It’s a solid choice for users who care more about actual photo quality than having multiple decorative “filler” sensors.

Smooth Display and Reliable Performance

On the front, the Spark 50 Pro packs a massive 6.78-inch IPS LCD. The real winner here is the 120Hz refresh rate, making scrolling through social feeds and animations feel buttery smooth. It’s also paired with dual DTS stereo speakers, which is a nice touch for anyone who watches a lot of video on the go.

Under the hood, Tecno opted for the MediaTek Helio G100 Ultimate chipset. This 4G processor is built to handle daily tasks and moderate gaming with ease, especially since it’s paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

Battery Life That Lasts Years, Not Months

Depending on your region, you’ll find one of two battery configurations: a 5,600mAh dual-cell or a beefy 6,000mAh single-cell unit. Both versions support 60W fast charging. Perhaps more impressive is the longevity claim: Tecno guarantees these cells will retain over 80% of their original capacity even after six years of daily use. That’s a huge plus for those who don’t want to upgrade their phone every two years just because the battery died.

Smart Software Out of the Box

The Spark 50 Pro is launching with HiOS 16, based on Android 16. It includes Tecno’s full AI suite, featuring the Ella AI Agent, AI writing tools, and even an AI Health Assistant. It also features AI Noise Cancellation during calls, which is a massive help when you’re trying to talk in a crowded or windy environment.

Available in a variety of slick finishes—Ink Black, Titanium Grey, Midnight Blue, Dynamic Orange, and Cloud White—the Spark 50 Pro looks like a solid contender for the budget crown. While Tecno hasn’t shared official pricing yet, it’s definitely a device to keep on your radar if you need durability without the high price tag.
