Samsung Galaxy A27 Breaks Cover: A Snapdragon Upgrade with Some Curious Trade-offs

After weeks of swirling rumors and leaked renders, the Samsung Galaxy A27 is finally official—sort of. Samsung Czechia decided to jump the gun, listing the device on its official website and giving us a clear look at what the next generation of the A-series brings to the table. While there is plenty to be excited about, especially under the hood, Samsung has made a few design choices that might leave fans scratching their heads.

Performance: Out with Exynos, In with Snapdragon

The most significant upgrade this year is the internal hardware. Samsung has ditched the Exynos 1280 and 1380 chips found in previous models in favor of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3. This is a welcome shift for users who prioritize efficiency and consistent performance. You can expect configurations with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM, paired with 128GB or 256GB of internal storage.

Display and Design: A Modern Facelift

On the front, the Galaxy A27 looks sharper than ever. It features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a crisp FHD+ resolution and a buttery-smooth 120Hz refresh rate. Samsung has also moved away from the older notch design, opting for a modern punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera, which instantly makes the device feel more premium.

The Camera Situation: A Mixed Bag

Flip the phone over, and you’ll find a 50MP main camera equipped with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), which is great for steady shots and low-light performance. However, things get a bit weird after that. The ultrawide lens has been downgraded to a 5MP sensor, down from the 8MP module on the Galaxy A26. Even the selfie camera took a slight hit, moving from 13MP to a 12MP unit. While megapixels aren’t everything, it’s a strange move for a successor.

Durability and Longevity

In another unexpected twist, the Galaxy A27 carries an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance. This is actually a step down from the IP67 rating found on the A26, meaning you’ll want to be a bit more careful around water than you were with the previous model.

On the software side, however, Samsung is leading the pack. The A27 is slated to launch with OneUI 8.5 based on Android 16. The real kicker? Samsung is promising six years of major Android OS updates and six years of security patches. That is incredible longevity for a mid-range device.

Battery, Colors, and Expected Pricing

The battery remains a solid 5,000mAh unit with 25W wired charging—standard fare for the A-series. If you’re looking for style, the phone will be available in a vibrant palette of Black, Blue, Light Green, and Pink.

While official local pricing hasn’t been set in stone yet, recent leaks suggest the Galaxy A27 will start around €349 for the base 6/128GB model, with the 8/256GB variant potentially hitting the €439 mark. We expect more global availability details to surface very soon.
