Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro show up in more premature retailer listings

Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro: Everything We Know After a Major Leak

It’s that time of year again. Just days before Xiaomi’s official May 28 launch event, the rumor mill has gone into overdrive. While we already had a few clues about what to expect from the 17T series, a series of premature retailer listings in Saudi Arabia has effectively spoiled the surprise, giving us a clear look at the specs and pricing for these upcoming powerhouses.

Price Points Revealed

Before we dive into the hardware, let’s talk numbers. While currency conversions aren’t always a perfect science due to local taxes, the Saudi Arabian listings give us a strong indication of where these devices sit in the market:

  • Xiaomi 17T (256GB): SAR 2,199 (approx. $587)
  • Xiaomi 17T (512GB): SAR 2,599 (approx. $694)
  • Xiaomi 17T Pro (512GB): SAR 3,299 (approx. $882)

Xiaomi 17T: The New Standard

The standard Xiaomi 17T is shaping up to be a compelling mid-to-high-end option. Available in Black, Violet, and White, it features a 6.59-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a crisp 1280×2772 resolution. Under the hood, it’s powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 chipset, paired with a generous 12GB of RAM.

Xiaomi seems to be going all-in on battery life this year. The 17T packs a massive 6,500 mAh battery with 67W wired charging support. Photography enthusiasts can look forward to a triple rear camera setup (50MP + 50MP + 12MP) and a high-res 32MP selfie camera.

Xiaomi 17T Pro: A Performance Powerhouse

If you’re looking for more muscle, the 17T Pro steps things up in Deep Blue and Deep Violet. It sports a larger 6.83-inch screen with a faster 144Hz refresh rate, which should make it a hit for mobile gaming. Performance is driven by the more robust Dimensity 9500 SoC.

The most eye-popping spec, however, is the battery. The Pro model includes a gargantuan 7,000 mAh cell. To keep downtime to a minimum, it supports blazing-fast 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The camera array mirrors the standard model, ensuring consistent photo quality across the series.

With the official reveal set for May 28 and an India launch expected shortly after, we won’t have to wait long to see these devices in action. If these leaked specs hold true, Xiaomi is about to set a very high bar for battery performance in 2024.
