Flipkart once again teases Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ ahead of launch
Motorola Edge 70 Pro+: Wood Finishes and Periscope Zooms are Coming to India
Flipkart is officially turning up the heat. With the Indian launch of the Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ expected in early June, the e-commerce giant has been dropping steady teasers that give us a much clearer picture of what to expect. From unconventional materials to a serious camera upgrade, this isn’t just another incremental update.
Texture and Tone: The Pantone Partnership Continues
Motorola is leaning heavily into its partnership with Pantone, offering three distinct personalities for the Edge 70 Pro+. Rather than the standard glass or plastic backs we see everywhere, these finishes are designed to feel different in the hand:
- Pantone Zinfandel: A sophisticated wine-red shade featuring a smooth, satin-luxe finish that feels incredibly premium.
- Pantone Stormy Sea: A muted light blue with a unique twill-inspired texture for those who want a bit more grip and character.
- Pantone Chicory Coffee: Perhaps the most intriguing of the bunch, this version features a sculpted wood finish, bringing an organic, high-end feel back to the smartphone world.
A Serious Leap in Mobile Photography
The camera island isn’t just for show. Motorola is introducing a 50MP periscope zoom lens capable of 3.5x optical magnification. If you need to get even closer, the system uses AI to push that reach out to a 50x hybrid zoom.
For the portrait enthusiasts, the Edge 70 Pro+ is shaping up to be a powerhouse. The periscope lens defaults to an 85mm focal length for that classic bokeh-heavy portrait look, but the software also includes dedicated modes for 24mm, 35mm, and 50mm. Under the hood, the zoom functionality is powered by the Sony Lytia 710 sensor (1/1.56-inch), which should ensure excellent low-light performance and dynamic range.
What Else is Under the Hood?
While the teasers focus on the looks and the glass, the rumor mill has filled in the rest of the blanks. We are likely looking at a massive 6.7-inch or 6.8-inch AMOLED display with a buttery smooth 144Hz refresh rate. Performance should be snappy with up to 16GB of RAM and Motorola’s signature Turbo Power charging for both wired and wireless setups.
With the official launch just around the corner, it won’t be long before we see if the Edge 70 Pro+ can disrupt the flagship-killer segment in India.
